Americano Tournament Ranking and Scoring

Learn how average points and tie-breaks keep Americano tournament standings fair with uneven byes.

Americano tournament standings rank players by average points. This keeps rankings fair when byes are uneven and some players have fewer scored fixtures than others.

How Americano tournament scoring works

Each completed fixture contributes points to the players who took part. Standings use average points rather than a total, so a player who has a bye is not disadvantaged simply for having fewer scored fixtures.

When a player is ranked

A player must play more than half of the scored rounds to receive a rank. Rounds only count once every fixture in that round has a submitted score. Players who have not played enough show a hyphen and appear at the end of the standings.

Tie-break order

  1. Average points
  2. Point difference
  3. Wins
  4. Total points
  5. Roster order
