Points and rating

Learn what sport points mean and why they change after each match.
Points are our way to estimate how strong you are in a sport. After each match, your points update based on the result and the opponents you played. We use TrueSkill, a rating system originally developed for Xbox Live.
What affects point changes?
- Winning against strong opponents increases your points more than winning against beginners.
- The system starts uncertain about your level and adjusts quickly at first. Once it has seen enough of your matches, changes become smaller.
- Consistent results matter - stable performance improves your long-term points.
Example: you are at 1,200 pts and beat a 1,500-pt player - you might gain around 40 pts. Beat a 900-pt player and it may only be 5 pts.
Per-sport points
Points are tracked separately for each sport. The leaderboard uses these sport ratings for sport rankings and combines played sports into a separate Overall score.
